Over 80 years of support

The St. Nicholas Fund was established over 80 years ago to support children who are sick at the now closed Westminster Children’s Hospital. In our new home at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, we carry on our work of providing vital assistance to patients and their parents by supporting the NHS.

In September 2015, the West Middlesex Hospital became part of the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and when requested, we also provide help to their children’s wards.

Through regular contact with the paediatric and neo-natal wards, we are able to help where needed – providing items from small baby spoons to sophisticated medical equipment – costing from a few pence to thousands of pounds.

We work closely with the Playleaders, Ward Managers, and the Paediatric Psychology Unit. Anyone looking around the wards and the waiting-rooms in children’s outpatients or A&E will see evidence of our work – toys, murals, furniture, books to name but a few!
